Borland Delphi is a complete application development system, and winner of the coveted PC Plus Gold Award. As Delphi is a true compiler, these applications are small and fast!

We have printed manuals and other upgrades available - see the magazine for details.

Read the full original review of Delphi 1.0 from PC Plus.

If you install on a Windows 3.1 machine, you will be informed if you don't have the Share.exe turned on in your autoexec.bat. You should make sure that it is. Also note that some people have had problems installing on a Windows 95 machine with OLE2.REG. To solve this problem go into your Windows\System folder and rename OLE2.REG to OLE2.bak and then re-install Delphi.

This CD also includes the first tutorial series on Delphi run in PC Plus and all the associated tutorial files. Note that references to the primer edition in the tutorials can be ignored; all the subjects covered work in the full version of Delphi 1.0 on this CD-ROM.

To read these tutorials, you must have the Acrobat reader installed.

Tutorial 1 (PDF format)

Tutorial 2 (PDF format)

Tutorial 3 (PDF format)

Tutorial 4 (PDF format)

The example programs from the series are included uncompressed in the Delphi1 folder on the SuperCD in Lesson1, Lesson2, Lesson3 and Lesson 4 folders. You can load them directly from there or you can install them all from here.

This product does not include the right to redistribute applications.

Once you've found out just how simple and powerful Delphi can be, why not try the newer Delphi 2.0? This adds many new features, including the ability to create 32-bit applications under Windows 95 or NT. The Trial Edition included here will let you test this for yourself. Then check out our great upgrade prices!

If you install this version of Delphi and load up sample projects from Delphi 1 you may find that they are not compatible. You may also find that it creates executables and .DCU files which will stop the project from running under Delphi 1. To solve this, simply delete the new files from the lesson directory and it will then load again in Delphi 1.
